Pinterest – my new cool toy

I think about how much social media is really out there, and I have to sit down until my head stops spinning.

Honestly, I'm still just trying to figure out the ins and outs of social media - just for my own personal use, let alone how to potentially use its marketing power for a client.  I wonder how many of my Facebook friends truly take their mobile devices with them and update their day wherever they go.  Call me crazy, but I would rather log on twice a day, scan through people's updates, like their comments or links, comment here and there myself - and that's it.

Twitter??  It's like swimming through an ocean of pithy blurbs, and trying to find the one gem that would make me stand up and take notice.  Not to say that I don't like Twitter - it just takes time to get through to the golden nuggets, reply, retweet and figure out the best way to use it on a daily basis.

But I do love Pinterest!

Maybe it's because it's inherently visual appeals to the photographer in me, but I find that when I go to this site, I like to look around at those friends I'm following and others who have interests like mine.

I really like updating my own page, though.  I could probably do that all day, if I could get paid for it.  :)

Just like with any social media, though, I can't it to become a massive time drain vortex.  But if there's any client out there that wants me to be their Pinterest specialist...please get in touch!
